WATCH: Boomer and Gio Realize Live On-Air That They're Scheduled To Interview the Wrong Randy Moss
Super Bowl week is a goldmine for sports talk shows because getting awesome guests is like shooting fish in a barrel. It's why the PFT Commenters of the world get a weeklong trip to Las Vegas while the glue guys hang back in Chicago and make sure the new, expensive office doesn't turn into the Nicky Smokes Powder Playroom.
But there can sometimes be too many guests, as Boomer and Gio found out when they thought they were getting Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss and had instead booked the former NFL Network reporter and current NBC Sports horse racing analyst of the same name. Classic mix-up.
While I'm certain this not the first time the two have been confused for one another, the producer reads off a very clear description of the Moss that did not play 15 years in the NFL. Even if you thought the more ubiquitous Moss had maybe done some work with NBC and NFL Network, the word "reporter" should have raised some red flags. But if you have no clue there's another Randy out there, I guess there is enough there to make it plausible you're being pitched the six-time Pro Bowler.
This clip is awesome, I just wish it was White Randy walking into the studio instead of them figuring it out beforehand because that would have been an all-timer. White Randy is outstanding, though. Check out one of his several appearances on Pardon My Take.
